Nelson Warriors Men Set to Make Championship Run Beginning Wednesday
Take the #2 spot in the NCCAA DI Men's Basketball Championship Bracket
After a spectacular 20-5 regular season, the Nelson Warriors Men's Basketball team is slated to make an NCCAA national championship run as the bracket's 2-seed when they take on the 7-seed and host College of the Ozarks Bobcats (10-18) on Wednesday, March 19, at 5pm MT in Point Lookout, MO.
Headed up by first-year head coach Kole Ebert and led on the court by First Team All-Conference players Harley Upton, Rob Jenkins, and Zaveion Bineyard, and Second Teamer Terrin Ross, the Warriors look to avenge their Conference Championship loss with a deep national title run. This will be the program's first shot at winning a national championship, following the success of 2024-25, the best in program-history.
"Our group played hard every game all season," shared coach Ebert, who unexpectedly took the reigns of the team just two games into the season. "They earned this opportunity with their hard work and dedication both on and off the court. But making this tournament was always our goal. We believed that we were good enough and now we have the chance to show it to the country. We're all excited, but we'll be focused and ready to go when the ball is tipped off Wednesday night."
You can watch the action live here on the NCCAA Network, although the purchase of a subscription is required.
