Nelson Basketball Honors Seniors
Terrin Ross and Orlando Gonzales honored pre-game
Prior to their 96-83 victory over Nobel in both team's regular season finale, the Nelson Warriors' Men's Basketball program honored two cornerstone seniors, F Terrin Ross and G Orlando Gonzales, whose contributions both on and off the court have been instrumental in building the program into a perennial contender.
Both Ross and Gonzales are in their second season with the Warriors, having joined the squad prior to the 2024-25 campaign and each playing vital rolls in Nelson winning the program's first NCCAA National Championship in 2025. Their leadership, toughness, and clutch performances have been defining traits of the back-to-back championship-caliber teams.
In 2025, Terrin Ross earned All-Conference honors and has continued to anchor the Warriors' frontcourt with his offensive versatility, physical rebounding, and scoring ability. The best individual game of his career came on January 31, 2025, when he delivered a dominant 24-point, 11-rebound double-double that powered Nelson to a gritty 107-96 road victory over Pacific Union. This season, Ross has tied his career-high with 15 rebounds in a single game, pairing them with 11 points, 4 blocks, 4 assists, and 3 steals in an all-around masterpiece against Simpson on January 29, 2026, a stellar showcase of his ability impact both ends of the floor.
Orlando Gonzales has been a fixture in the starting lineup throughout his Nelson career, earning both All-Region and All-Conference accolades following the 2025 season as well. Known for his perimeter shooting, playmaking, and leadership, Gonzales' signature performance as a Warrior came on February 8, 2025, when he erupted for 22 points including a career-high 6 made three-pointers, and added 5 assists in a convincing 100-75 win over rival Justice. This season, he matched his career-high in three-pointers per game while setting a then-career-high of 25 points (later surpassed) in a standout performance at Simpson on October 25, 2025.
Together, Ross and Gonzales have been the heartbeat of the Warriors, providing veteran presences who bring consistency, competitiveness, and championship experience to a young, talented roster. Their impact extends far beyond statistics: they've helped instill a winning culture, mentored younger players, and set the standard for what it means to wear the Nelson jersey.
As the Warriors prepare for their postseason push, the program celebrates these two seniors not only for their on-court excellence but for the leadership and character they've brought every single day.
Congratulations to Terrin Ross and Orlando Gonzales on remarkable careers at Nelson – your legacies are already etched in program-history, and the best may still be ahead as they chase another title run.
