Holman and Gonzales Pass Historic Mark
Each reach 1,000 points in their college careers on same night
On January 29, 2026, in a hard-fought conference matchup against the Simpson Red Hawks at Scott Activity Center, the Nelson Warriors' Men's Basketball program celebrated a pair of significant milestones as both Zoe Holman and Orlando Gonzales each surpassed the 1,000-point mark for their college careers.
Head Coach Kole Ebert honored his two stars with commorative basketballs presented to each player prior to tip-off against Northern New Mexico on Friday night.
Holman, in his first season with the Warriors, reached the milestone in his debut campaign at Nelson after transferring from Compton College, where he built a strong foundation. Gonzales, now in his second season with the program, added this achievement to his growing legacy as a veteran leader who has been a consistent scoring threat and floor general.
With the Warriors currently positioned for another strong push in the NCCAA National Tournament, both players are closing in on the 500-point mark in Nelson uniforms alone—a feat that would be well within reach should the team make another deep postseason run and extend their season.
This dual milestone underscores the talent and experiences the Warriors have brought together this year. Holman's explosive athleticism and Gonzales' veteran poise have been cornerstones of Nelson's late-season surge, and seeing them etch their names into the career scoring record books on the same night was a fitting reward for their contributions both on and off the court.
Congratulations to Zoe Holman and Orlando Gonzales on this impressive accomplishment! The Warriors' faithful are proud to watch two outstanding student-athletes reach this elite level while continuing to lead the program toward championship aspirations.
